The framework

One equation. Every high-stakes room you'll ever walk into.

Decision Space isn't a metaphor bolted onto a leadership book. It's a working model. Hover, tap, or tab through every symbol below to see what it actually means and how it plays out under pressure.

Interactive breakdown of the Decision Space equation. Select any symbol, including the friction function, to see its definition.

Decision Space

The Equation

Your long-term impact equals the force you bring (the Numerator, You) divided by the friction of the world (the Denominator), sustained over time. Hover or tap any symbol to break it down.

Why four variables

People, Place, Context, Time: the constants that never leave the room

P: People

Their motives, egos, strengths, and weaknesses. Every room is run by the people in it before it's run by the agenda on the table.

p: Place

The environment and the rules of the arena. A boardroom, a scene, a negotiation table. Each has its own physics.

c: Context

The stakes and the hidden story of the moment. What actually brought everyone to this room, versus what's being said out loud.

t: Time

Urgency, history, and how fast your options are disappearing. Read wrong and the window closes before you notice it was open.

You cannot eliminate friction. Read it correctly and your force multiplies. Misread it, and the room breaks you instead.
